Come join us for an Adventure of a Lifetime, and delve deep into the depths of the ancient Karijini Landscape. This majestic and rugged landscape, steeped in indigenous history, is located in the remote Pilbara Region of Western Australia, and harbours unique geological formations, flora and fauna found nowhere else on the planet. The canyons we will be travelling through have been carved out by water over millions of years and expose some of the oldest rock and fossils on earth. This often fragile environment, undergoes dramatic changes each wet season, as vast volumes of water cascade through the canyons. Be one of the few that have done all 3 class 6 restricted canyons back to back, add to this 3 non restricted canyons of spectacular beauty OR a Mount Bruce Summit Hike + 1 non restricted canyon, stunning red earth punctuated by yellows and greens, turquoise waters and magnificent sunsets and sunrises, and you have yourself a once in a lifetime adventure.

Both the above dates would need to meet minimum number requirements to proceed. This can either be in the form of an entire party, comprising of you and your family/friends, OR a party made of individuals or smaller groups.
We need at least 6 people per trip, to make this adventure happen, and can take up to 8 people each trip.

This trip is open to anyone, even if you have not been on an adventure with us, or have no previous abseiling experience, so you can invite your family and/or friends who have as yet not joined us. The minimum age is 14, unless this person can convince me that they are capable of the trip, which can be decided on the training day. There is no maximum age (the oldest person we have taken through Karijini to date is 84). You do need a relatively good level of fitness for this trip. Please contact us if you have any doubts about your level of fitness.

Everyone coming on this trip would need to come out for a full day of abseil training with us (even if you have done an abseil session with us already). This training day is included in the price.

If on the training day it turns out that either we feel, or you feel, that this is not for you, a full refund will be issued, minus the $139 for the training day.

The trip would be comprised of 5 canyons/gorges, OR 3 canyons & a Mount Bruce Summit Hike, as listed in the order below. The entire trip would be over 5 days.

FUN FACT: Canyon & Gorge are interchangeable, both meaning formed by water erosion over time. To travel through either is called Canyoning ;)

OVERVIEW

DAY 1. Travel & Arrive

The first day would be comprised of a flight from Perth at 0630 to Paraburdoo Airport. After arriving at Paraburdoo around 0830 we will head off for our first adventure and explore Hamersley Gorge. The banded ironstone in this gorge has a unique swirling pattern and a stunning variety of colours. We will have morning tea and lunch at Hamersley Gorge, this is also where you will meet Sven, your lead guide for the trips. This is a great place for a dip...so have your bathers at the ready if you feel so inclined

After Exploring Hamersley Gorge, we will head off to the Eco Retreat to settle in and get ready for dinner. Over dinner we will provide a comprehensive briefing and watch the sunset over the Savannah of Karijini with a drink in hand.

If you are driving, please discuss a rendezvous with us.

DAY 2. Weono Gorge 45m Waterfall Abseil

We enter this stunning gorge and journey to Handrail Pool, using our tubes and hand paddles, to paddle to the entrance of Jade Pool (aptly named due to its jade coloured water). This is the entrance to the class 6 part of this gorge. We then via ferrata along an edge above Jade Pool and travel to the Amphitheatre for morning tea. We will then hook in for the 45m Waterfall descent!!! This awesome waterfall plunges deep into the heart of Karijini. Once at the bottom we will break for lunch. We then paddle across Junction Pool, where we exit via the Centre of the Earth, up the Chute with a hand line, and climb out on ropes (approximately 10m) on to a ledge overlooking the stunning Jimmy Regan's Pool. We then via ferrata along the ledge to Kermit's Pool, to exit via the Spider Walk and the rest of Hancock Gorge.

DAY 3. Joffre Gorge Paddle

This stunning gorge is only operated by us, and we believe it is the hidden jewel of Karijini ;) It is the longest trip we will do, and requires the whole day 0800-1700 to complete.

We walk into the gorge from the Eco Retreat, and spend the day paddling our tubes for the entire length of this amazing gorge, which includes waterfalls, beautiful red banded ironstone walls up to 100m high, turquoise crystal clear waters, wildlife, serenity and the ancient ambiance that is Karijini. We then exit the same way we did the previous day, via Junction Pool, Centre of the Earth, and Hancock Gorge.

This is a full day and you will be one of the very few that have done this amazing adventure ;)

DAY 4. Knox Gorge Waterslide & Red Gorge Paddle

This will complete the class 6 canyon part of our Karijini Adventure, with an awesome water slide into Knox Gorge, followed by a small abseil (approx. 8m) into Red Gorge, where we will spend most of the day paddling the entire length of the gorge to Junction Pool and exit the same way as the other two trips...which is a view we don't believe you will tire of ;)

We will also have a quick look around the corner up Wittenoom Gorge, which is a multi-day Canyoning, Bushwalking & Camping trip we are working on. This might entice you to join us in the future ;)

DAY 5. Kalamina Gorge, Circular Pool, Visitor's Centre, OR Mount Bruce Hike, & Return to Perth

On the last day, after packing up camp and breakfast, we will either head off to Kalamina Gorge, Circular Pool and the Karijini Visitor's Centre, or we can hike to the summit of Mount Bruce. This will be a group decision based on how majority of the group is feeling. We will have a packed lunch for either trip.
We will depart for Perth from Paraburdoo at around 1900, and arrive back in Perth around 2100.

If you are booking flights, we strongly advise that you wait to hear from us to ensure that this tour has met minimum numbers and will proceed. We will let you know as soon as possible, and no later than the closing dates for last payments listed below.

This tour, as with all our tours, is subject to our Terms and Conditions.

If you do not wish to fly, this is an AWESOME road trip. We are more than happy to chat to you about fantastic places to visit along the way and options of where to rendezvous for the start of the tour on the first day.

We genuinely feel we have done our best to keep the price as low as possible and in line, if not below, similar products within WA. We understand that flying to some parts of Asia might be cheaper, but things being set up as they are in WA, internal flights and associated costs are higher.

PAYMENT

As we need to pre-book well in advance, we would need to secure full payment of either amount for the September/October Trip by the 20th of August 2020.

For the April trip, we need full payment of either amount by the 28th of February 2021.

In the event of not meeting minimum numbers, we would issue a full refund.

If we get enough interest, we will be booking consecutive trips. So no one has to miss out.

If you have any questions, and/or to make your payment, please call us on
0423 182 663 or email us at info@spacechameleon.com.au

We look forward to hearing from you and making this AWESOME Adventure happen.
